Hidden Pocket Oasis is a private retreat nestled within the hills of the Byron Shire; a home designed to dissolve into its landscape over time.

Anchored by water, the dwelling is organised around a series of pools and cascading edges, allowing the architecture to step naturally with the contours of the land. Layers of planting and trailing vegetation soften the built form, with the intention that the home becomes increasingly enveloped by nature as it matures.

Positioned above a creek within a bushfire-prone setting, the home responds to a BAL-40 rating while maintaining a sense of openness and calm. Designed to operate off-grid, the project prioritises passive design principles, material performance, and long-term sustainability.

Ongoing material investigations including advanced concrete systems, aim to elevate the home beyond a 7-star energy rating, reinforcing its ambition as both a high-performance and deeply connected living environment.
